What is Yerba Maté?

Yerba Maté is a holly tree native to the rainforests of South America. Its leaves are brewed into a vital green beverage: maté (mah-tay). People from all walks of life have enjoyed its beneficial properties for centuries.

EcoTeas is a small company in southern Oregon owned and run by three best friends. EcoTeas' mission is to offer certified organic sustainably-grown, fairly-traded world teas.

Our organic yerba maté comes from the fertile forests of northeastern Argentina. We work in partnership with a 3-generation family farm to ensure outstanding quality. Our farmers dry their yerba with a unique hot-air process for a robust, smoke-free taste.
